The James Holmes case seems to unsurprisingly draw many parallels to that of Sirhan Sirhan the alleged assassin of Robert F. Kennedy. In both cases the defendant seemed drugged and downright out of wack, both claiming amnesia in the aftermath. In Sirhans situation, psychologists proved the claim to be true. The CIA initially declassified documents from 1950 which revealed the existence of drugs they had both produced and experimented with which were capable of altering the state of human psyche, including for the topical use of mind control, and subsequent amnesia. There's no denying how drugged James Holmes appeared at the proceedings:
Also relevant is the fact that similar to the recent shooting in Arizona involving Jared Lee Loughner, both candidates were fascinated by the ideas regarding mind control. Loughner sites “sleepwalking” during the day and “conscience dreaming” in his own various ramblings and videos. A video of a speech given by James Holmes at the age of 18 shows him referring to topics such as 'temporal illusions', which he defines as "an illusion that allows you to change the past", and 'subjective experience' "what takes place inside the mind as opposed to the external world":
