ComCrap!

Just received the monthly bill from Comcast.
Have been debating for some time on possibly terminating the the cable, keeping the internet,
and going the Netflix streaming route, a move which would save us $100 a month.
We rarely watch cable, yet continue to pay for a service which can affordably be replaced.
This months bill has a list of the current channel lineup changes, let's take a gander...

Channels no longer available:
-5 HD Cinemax channels
-HBO comedy HD
-Showtime showcase HD

Channels being added:
-Home Shopping Network HD
(never leave the couch again!)
-Military History channel
("proper"-ganda)
-Crime & Investigation network
(striking fear in the minds of thought criminals by showing bad guys never get away)
-4 sports channels
(the latter-day Coliseum, hypnotizing the masses)
-Galavision, yet another espanol channel, this time Mexicano-specific
(who would've thunk it?)
-Jewish Life TV
(for our Israeli brotherhood, whom freely suck off America's teet)

Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse,
I reviewed the program list on the only channel which sounded promising: HDNet
-a whole lotta Jag
(marine propaganda)
-MMA
(tribal fights for neanderthals)
-the UFL, a generic football league
(as if Sunday & Monday night wasn't enough,
now fully consume your Thursdays & Saturdays)
-a drinking show
(what better way to ignore reality)
& the icing on the cake:
-Girls Gone Wild & many other programs which showcase T&A
To put it blunt: WTF?!
I'm sure this channel would have many fans if it weren't in the armpit of the lineup, & that's sickening.

Many people are disconnecting, likely cause' it doesn't fit on the tighter budgets we've all been allotted.
In the 3rd quarter of 2010 alone, 500k viewers terminated their cable subscriptions.

Turn it off for awhile and pay attention to stuff which really matters.
Of course it's doom & gloom, but it matters, all this other shit is just fluff.
I haven't heard a peep out of people concerning real world issues, if I do it's what the media wants em' to talk about, such as aliens or the random rocket test, never anything of importance.
When I bring up real issues which could literally put people in the gutter most usually act like they care, then quickly change the subject to some random mundane topic.
I continue to see the world protesting the tyranny which has shackled us all in some way.
Still, America has yet to even raise their voice.
At this point even if the majority of the nation were thrown out on the streets,
I'm not sure if they'd even care much.
Most likely still be gossiping over:
-who broke a heel on Dancing with the Stars,
-who won the local sports game
-the newest brain depleting technology
or
-some puppet pop tune sweeping the masses
I truly think if the shit hit the fan America would be struggling to find a place to plug in their iPods.
